Dave started his career as a delivery man at Sadler’s in 1975, rising through the ranks to ownership. When Rachel joined the company in 1989, Furniture Enterprises began opening stores that filled underserved segments of the Alaskan market to provide more choices for local consumers.

Now with 13 stores, Furniture Enterprises is the leading furniture and mattress retailer in the state. With over 40 years of local experience we know the furniture business... and we know the unique issues of retailing in Alaska. Cold dry winters, longer shipping times, and complex logistics.

Our buyers shop all the major US furniture markets plus travel internationally to carefully select furniture that is on trend and pass our quality standards. Behind the scenes, Furniture Enterprises combines all operations. We flow nearly 100 containers of furniture a month through our 100,000-square foot distribution center. We strive to improve efficiencies in all aspects of our business.

Dave has been highly active in the home furnishings industry. He has served on numerous associations and boards as a member of the executive team. His ability to network with the leading retailers in the nation has help raise the standards in all our stores.

Dave and Rachel’s passion for home furnishings has been passed down to their daughter Hayley. Hayley learned a lot about the home furnishings business during nightly discussions around the dinner table. She has worked in many areas of the company including warehouse, delivery, sales, and administrative while she is finishing her college education.
